Allan14, Oct 2025Amelie was fantastic. During the one hour drive to Albi she perfectly captured the history of the area from the Roman times to Louis IVX, which provided a tremendous amount of context to the day in general. That history and perspective that she provided all the way through our wine tasting at the end of the day really gave a complete experience. The three locations on this tour are great intros to the Tarn region in France.

Yelda30, Sep 2025I highly recommend this tour of Albi, Cordes and Winery. Our driver/guide Amelie is a local and she is very knowledgeable about history, art and culture of the area. She gave us lots of information, made it fun and kept our attention. Albi is a beautiful town with the tallest brick cathedral in the world and special architecture. Cordes is a well preserved medieval city with many artisan shops. Tour ended with a taste of small production delicious wines at Chateau de Mayragues.

Phil 29, Sep 2025We are so glad we took this tour. Our guide Amelée was superb! We got so much history told in a very interesting way. Albi was the highlight. Cordes sur Ciel was gorgeous and the wine tasting was lovely as it was not in any way rushed. All in all we had a lovely time and would highly recommend the tour.

Janet27, Sep 2025We really enjoyed the tour today. We were a group of seven. Albi was the highlight for us. The guided tour was very interesting and provided us with a lot of information. We had lunch in a great restaurant by the river. Cordes was fascinating and Amélie gave us great insight into the history of the place. The wine tasting was in a lovely family run chateau. Would recommend this tour 100%.

Jessica20, Sep 2025Our Tour guide Amelie was fantastic. Loved going through Albi and learning everything about to city. Her knowledge on the history is outstanding even when we asked about the 100 year war she didn’t hesitate to educate us. Keep it up!

Hannah21, Aug 2025The tour of Albi, Cordes and the Chateau de Mayragues vineyard near Gaillac was wonderful. Amelie was our tour guide and driver and was so knowledgeable. There was a good balance of guided parts and free time. Although it is a long day, so you don’t get too much free time. It’s a great tour for those who want to see a lot of the Tarn without having to self drive, or are short on time. You do need to have ok mobility - while there isn’t too much walking, Cordes is up a hill and has lots of cobble stones! The wine at the end of the tour was welcome and delicious!

Luccia 15, Jul 2025As a previous resident of this region, I tried to do as much as possible by train etc, and my own knowledge. Trips however are a good way to get a few places in if you're are not staying in these towns overnight and language skills. Toulouse and it's surrounding towns need more than a few hours. A would recommend anyone to go back a second time. Beautiful area, steeped in History.

ladysignaller30, Jun 2021as frequent "city weekenders" we always find Sunday a bit flat, so we book a day tour, to get out of the city to see further afield,Toulouse was no exception, we read the reviews on here, and the tour was as good as the reviews! Stephanie the guide was waiting, we found we were the only ones on the tour that day, and the tour lived up to the description. we visited Albi, Cordes, & Gaillac wine tasting, Albi was beautiful, the Cathedral was spectacular, Cordes where we had lunch, was so interesting the views were to be seen to be believed, and the wine tasting?? nothing could go wrong there! so helpful not just on a sales push, which made a lovely change. very well worth the cost of the "small tour" service, so much better than the organised "coach" trips. Stephanie was a delightful guide, and really knew the things you need a good guide to know!

relivalicious23, Jun 2021I enjoyed my recent tour of Albi. The cathedral was magnificent and like seeing a museum. I appreciated having a guide who knew details about the church and town and spoke English. She was also kind enough to drop me off at the train station. It was a very positive experience and I would recommend it to anyone!

nchar16, Aug 2019We toured with Annie to Albi, Cordes and Gaillac wine tasting. The cathedral at Albi was amazing in both size and preservation of the interior. Annie provided us with the history, not only of the church, but of what was occurring in the country at that time. In our free time we wander the farmers market and found out mouths watering at the delicious looking cheeses, meat and pastries. The medieval town of Mont Mirail was fascinating and the wine tasting fun at the end of the day. Annie delivered us safely back to Toulouse....a very good day.

Seainin03, Aug 2019We took the trip to Albi, Cordes-sur-Ciel and the wine place at Gaillac. Our guide, Stéphanie, was very very nice and had a great sense of humor, really knew her stuff and moved easily between English, French and Spanish. We saw the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum in Albi and also had time to wander round the town and get lunch. Cordes is a must-see and it would have been really difficult to get to it without going on this excursion. We also saw a lot of the beautiful countryside around Toulouse. We would recommend this excursion to anyone.

TriciaA20, Jun 2019I really enjoyed the trip. As a solo traveler I was tossing up whether to hire a car to get to Albi from Toulouse, or try for a day trip by train. Then luckily I found Ophorus when I asked at the Toulouse Tourist center. It was so good to sit back and enjoy the drive, plus share the experience with 4 other people. Stephanie was great, giving us lots of interesting information, guiding us through interesting streets, then letting us free to explore Toulouse-Lautrec museum. Again I was glad that I wasn't the driver when we went to Cordes-sur-Ciel. It is a picture perfect place with wonderful panoramas of the countryside. I was so impressed that I looked for Ophorus when I went go to Rocamadour. Thank you Ophorus.

SHB77318, May 2019Our guide Stephanie arrived on time. Five people for the 8 hour tour. We departed Toulouse in a very nice van and traveled to Albi to visit the church, the Letrac museum and a nice walk through the city. Then off to Cordes sur Ciel and then wine tasting in Gaillac. Throughout the day we were afforded insights and side information you cannot find published. Stephanie always went out of her way to give us more than the basic tour and the photos and memories will last forever. Great experience at a reasonable price.

JeffreyHK04, May 2019It was rather a headache to find a good English local tour co. while I was planning my trip to Carcassonne. So we wrote to the Tourisme de Toulouse and the Office recommended Ophorus to us. Ophorus gave us quick responses and confirmed us that we could do two tours in a day : Carcassone & Albi. We were fortunate to meet our driver and guide, Stephanie. She was resourceful who told us many stories about the history of the areas. She also brought us to some scenic spots and gave us sufficient time to explore the areas ourselves.
Although we did the two tours in a day, we did not feel rush and tiring. We were highly impressed by the serene beauty of Carcassone, the renowned castle town as well as Albi, the pink city, where both have been listed as Unesco’s world heritage sites. We thanked Ophorus for helping us getting to these two charming, medieaval towns from which we took lots of great pictures. We also thank Stephanie again for her professionalism who brought us lots of cherished memories in our trip.

fp12, Apr 2019Simply perfect.
We took the tour 2 days in a row during our stop over in Toulouse.
The 1st day to Albi, Cordes and Gaillac in a SUV Mercedes with 2 other couples from Australia, the 2nd day to Carcassonne just alone with the same guide Anne.
Anne was perfect both in English and French.
We recommend Ophorus Toulouse Sightseeing Day Tours highly.

Sara J23, Oct 2012Despite myself messing up, booking for the wrong day and arriving over an hour late once we realized our mistake, Ophorus were very accommodating and allowed us to complete the full day tour and finish later than normal, for a small amount of extra cash. Our guide was friendly and informative and we had a lovely day. Our tour consisted of Albi, Cordes and Gaillac wine tasting. An excellent day out for people not wishing to hire a car.
