Private Saint‑Émilion Wine Shore Excursion from Bordeaux & Bassens
Embark on a private shore excursion from Bordeaux City or Bassens Cruise Port to the world‑famous Saint‑Émilion wine region. Combine Grand Cru tastings with a guided visit of a UNESCO‑listed medieval village, led by an expert Bordeaux wine guide.
Pick up at your cruise ship in Bordeaux or Bassens
Your day begins with direct pick up at your cruise ship in Bordeaux or Bassens. Meet your English‑speaking driver/guide, a Bordeaux wine specialist licensed to guide inside historic sites. After a quick overview of the itinerary, settle into your comfortable, air‑conditioned Mercedes minivan and leave the city for the right‑bank vineyards.
Travel in comfort in a spacious Mercedes minivan
Relax on the short drive to Saint‑Émilion in a premium Mercedes minivan accommodating up to 8 guests. An on‑board PA system ensures you can hear your guide clearly wherever you sit, and you’ll enjoy Wi‑Fi and bottled water along the way.
Visit and tasting at a Saint‑Émilion Grand Cru estate
After your tasting, continue to the village of Saint‑Émilion itself. Perched above the Dordogne Valley, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a maze of steep cobbled lanes, stone houses, and panoramic viewpoints. Follow your guide on a walking tour to discover key landmarks such as the cloister, church, and underground heritage, and hear stories that link the village’s long history with its winemaking traditions.
Free time and return to your ship
Enjoy some free time to explore Saint‑Émilion at your own pace. Browse wine shops and cellars, pick up a bottle or two, or simply wander the streets and soak up the atmosphere. In the afternoon, your guide will drive you back to your cruise ship in Bordeaux or Bassens, concluding your Saint‑Émilion wine adventure.

IMPORTANT PORT OF CALL INFORMATION
While some cruise itineraries list “Bordeaux” as a port of call, it is possible that your ship will dock at Le Verdon-sur-Mer, situated over 2.5 hours from Bordeaux by road.
All Bordeaux shore excursions and meeting points are based in the city of Bordeaux, not Le Verdon-sur-Mer. To avoid missed tours and non-refundable costs, please double-check your arrival port before booking. If you have any questions, contact us for assistance.
What to know before your tour?
Enjoying wine is a wonderful part of discovering France’s culture and heritage. We encourage guests to savor each tasting responsibly and at their own pace. Please remember that wine contains alcohol, and moderation helps you fully appreciate the flavors, keep a clear head throughout the tour, and make the most of your experience.
If you want to share your tour with others, you can put it on Cruise Critic. Most of the time this gives good results. You must do this yourself as we are not accepted on their site as a professional business. We accept split payment transactions by credit card.

Refund Policy: You must notify us at least 48 hours in advance if your ship cannot dock (due to weather or port changes) to qualify for a refund.
In regards to the protection of the environment, we will no longer provide plastic bottles of water during our tours. You are kindly advised to bring your own. Water and refills are available at the wineries, museums and attractions visited.
