Immerse Yourself in Alsace's Rich Tapestry: Villages Tour from Strasbourg
Step into a living postcard as you leave Strasbourg behind and wind south along Alsace's legendary Wine Route. This carefully curated half-day tour takes you through three of the region's most captivating villages — each with its own distinct personality, history and Alsatian soul.
Obernai — A Medieval Gem at the Foot of Mont Sainte-Odile
Mittelbergheim — The Quintessential Wine Village
Tucked between the vines on a gentle hillside, Mittelbergheim is one of Alsace's most charming villages. Virtually unchanged for centuries, this tight-knit community of winemakers breathes the quiet rhythms of the Wine Route. Admire the Renaissance town hall, the ancient wine presses, and the Grand Cru Zotzenberg vineyards that cascade around the village.
Barr or Andlau — Depending on the Day & Your Guide
Your third village varies by schedule and guide, ensuring each visit remains personal and unhurried:
Andlau — Steeped in monastic history, Andlau is home to the remarkable Abbatial Church of Saints Peter & Paul, with one of the finest Romanesque friezes in Alsace, and celebrated Grand Cru wines — Kastelberg, Wiebelsberg and Moenchberg.
Throughout the tour, your expert English-speaking driver-guide brings Alsace's layered history to life — from Roman origins and Frankish kings to the region's distinctive Franco-German culture and world-renowned wines. Travel in comfort in a modern minivan, with ample time to wander, photograph and soak it all in.

Wanda27, Jun 2025Charming villages in the Alsace Region. I especially loved Riquewihr, which Beauty and the Beast is based off. The towns were beautiful and they had delicious food and nice shops!

Cristiano13, Jun 2025We visited several places along the Wine Route. It was an 8-hour activity. We left (on time) from Strasbourg toward Colmar, then Eguisheim, Riquewihr, and finally a visit to the Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle. We had time to ourselves for taking pictures, shopping, and exploring in general. We had lunch in Riquewihr. The visit to the castle involves a great deal of climbing stairs. Nevertheless, it is worthy! There is a spectacular view of the valley and mountains.

Stecy T26, Jan 2025It was such an amazing trip and I can truly recommend it to anyone that wants to learn and see more of the Alsace region. The tour guide is knowledgeable, friendly and makes the trip one to remember.

Traci31, Aug 2024I had a wonderful time in this trip. Our tour guide Robin took us to some beautiful towns in Alsace that I'd have never found on my ow. His knowledge of the area was impressive and he had great stories and tips. I travel by myself frequently and Robin did a wonderful job of making our small group feel like a team. I as very impressed with the tour and Robin. I'd highly recommended this to anyone.

Olga27, Aug 2024We had a great time with Thierry. I read up on the history of the region beforehand to better understand the context but it was Thierry's personal stories and experiences that made it more real. He also tried to take the least crowded streets, where possible, to ensure more authentic experience. Recommend!

Mikaela Apsey06, Nov 2023Our trip around Alsace was amazing! Our guide Thierry was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot throughout our day. There was a good mixture of being guided by Thierry and having our own time in the little towns. Would highly recommended visiting these towns!

Audrey Tey18, Oct 2023Took two tours with them (Half day wine tour in Alsace & Authentic Alsatian villages). Both were good and the guides did their best to explain the history and culture of the places we visited and were patient with questions. Would highly recommend this as it’s not the typical group tour experience. It’s kept small and everyone gets to interact with one another

n/a18, May 2023We enjoyed our tour - meeting place and time as noted in the reservation. There were only four of us on the tour, which made it more personal. Our guide was very familiar with the region and made adjustments as needed for traffic and road conditions. He shared history and knowledge with humor and honesty. He had extensive knowledge of wine and winemaking, and stopped to show us a wine cellar. A nice break from walking around cities. Beautiful countryside and amazing historic villages. Highly recommend!

Sebastián Espinar02, May 2023Thierry was super cool and explained everything and more which was already a plus to the lovely landscapes! super recommended

N/A27, Jun 2022A great tour with a very knowledgeable and funny guide, Robin. The small group of 8 people was just the right mix to learn about and taste Alsacian wines, the drive through the area safe and picturesque. I highly recommend it.

Jackie Hawkeye08, Oct 2021We had a wonderful half day tour on the Route de Vin with Florence, our guide. The van is nice, the towns are characteristically Alsace and driving through (and walking a bit) was lovely. The wineries are locally owned, often family-owned, and tucked into the vineyards and towns, it is so interesting and charming! The ones we visited had the classic Alsace grapes, including some Grand Cru options. We enjoyed it thoroughly and highly recommend. We also enjoyed meeting Florence! She was interesting and knowledgeable, as well as fun to be with. Tres bien!
