His knowledge of the area when we travelled added to the occasion as did his suggestions for eating at lunch time. the vineyards were very different which gave an excellent comparison. a great day out and a highlight of our visit to Tours

Ilia was very knowledgeable and provided good detail about the process, wine and particular places we visited. This was a nice afternoon spent in the Loire valley.

Not only did we get to try a wide variety of wines (all delicious, by the way), but we also got to see some very pretty areas of the Loire Valley and explore a small town square with a lovely market for lunch. Our guide Ilia was so helpful and friendly - he made excellent company with our group for the day! I'd definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in a fun and relaxing day excursion.

Contratamos la visita en inglés, nuestra idea era ir traduciendo porque mis padres no saben el idioma pero al llegar el guía sabía español y gracias a que la pareja estadounidense que contrató también el tour accedió a que nos pudiera ir traduciendo pudo hacer el tour en ambos idiomas. Mis padres encantados claro! Visitamos dos bodegas: la primera, muy familiar, vinos exquisitos, nos enseñaron el proceso y realizamos la cata. Camille (la chica de la bodega) sabía español y mis padres también emocionados porque pudieron hacer la visita en este idioma mientras otro chico la hacía en inglés a los estadounidenses. La segunda bodega menos familiar pero pequeñita, ahí paseamos por el viñedo y probamos 10 vinos!!! Primera vez que pruebo un tinto espumoso. Gracias por esta visita, súper recomendable

He was friendly, honest, and provided a wonderful introduction to Chinon wine and the history and natural beauty of the Loire Valley. We will be returning to the area because of his warm welcome and the wonders that await. P.S. Take all of his recommendations for food and dessert.

Paul 11, Oct 2023 From start to finish our wine tasting tour was absolutely great - as was our guide Ilya. Thanks to his shared knowledge and the information given at the wine tastings I ended the tour much more aware of the impact the environment can have on the wine we drink. The two chateaus we visited were very different from each other (as was their wine) but both were well worth the visit and the lunchtime break in the delightful town of Chinon was a perfect break in the middle of both tastings. I would highly recommend this tour.

Ilia our guide was really entertaining and very knowledgeable about the history of the area and about wine. He bought us a delicious dessert to try with out wine in the afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and would highly recommend.

Deborah Lowe 01, Jul 2023 Ilya was so knowledgeable, a great guide. He was very friendly and helpful. We went to two wineries, both very different. We got to taste so many wines and were taught so much about terroir appellation and methods of production. Ilya took us to Chinon for lunch. Unfortunately all the shops are closed at lunch. It would have been great to browse in them as well as eating a very nice lunch. I would recommend this tour for anyone who doesn't want to see more Chateaux! We have seen plenty and other tours were more expensive as they included a chateau or two.

We tasted some really lovely wines at Domaine de Noire and was able to talk with the wine maker Jean Max once he realised that we had some knowledge of the wine process coming from a wine making region, the Swan Valley in Western Australia. We learned a lot about Appellation and Terrior. We were able to explore Chinon a beautiful little town along the banks of the Loire River. We then went to Chateau de Miniere which is an all female domain. We enjoyed both red and whites and a sparkling Cab Franc which we enjoyed the local dessert wine jelly apple tart. Ther were only the 2 of us but I would highly recommend this company and this experience. We had a great day out. Thank you Ilia.

Margaret Funck et Lucy McKeon 26, May 2023 Nous étions accueillies à l’heure à l’Office de Tourisme de Tours par notre accompagnateur Ilia et avons fait un très confortable voyage jusqu’aux deux vignobles et à Chinon.
Ilia était un excellent guide, avec une très bonne connaissance du sujet, et est une personne tres sympathique et agréable.
Nous étions tres bien accueillies dans les deux vignobles où nous avons beaucoup appris concernant la culture de la vigne et la production du vin. Une visite imprévue dans la maison troglodyte d’un des vignerons était très intéressante aussi.
Mon amie a beaucoup apprécié son anniversaire, partagé avec une autre dame du groupe, et Ilia a très gentiment organisé une petite fête pour l’occasion, appréciée par tous.
Nous n’hésiterons pas à recommander cette excursion à des amis et avons l’intention de renouveler cette expérience avant trop longtemps.

Sam Stouffer 08, Apr 2023 Our group of four visited Tours in early April. We scheduled this tour and had the pleasure of being guided by Ilia, who is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We visited wineries in Chinon and Bourgueil. All were unique from one another and provided us the experience of seeing the vineyards, production areas, and cellars. They were all smaller production wineries and superb wines. It was exactly what we were hoping for and more, as we also got to see the historic town of Chinon and have a wonderful lunch. Ilia was extremely patient as we moved throughout the day and we never felt rushed. The van can comfortably seat six people and the drive is pleasant, often filled with conversation about the history of the Loire and the upcoming wineries. We had an amazing time and can't recommend this tour enough. Thank you Ophorus and Ilia!
