Continue to Saint-Paul-de-Vence, one of the many perched villages set in the Provençal hills. From its origins as a military stronghold, it has preserved its ramparts, guard walkways, cannons, and other historic features. The village is also famous for the many painters, writers, and film-makers who have been drawn here by the Mediterranean light and peaceful atmosphere.
Picasso, Matisse, Chagall, and Renoir are just a few of the artists who spent time in this small paradise to focus on their work. You will have time to explore the village, strolling the narrow, picturesque streets from the Royal Gate to the Southern Gate and admiring beautiful stone facades from the 16th and 17th centuries. Other highlights include the Folon Chapel, the Fondation Maeght, and renowned restaurants such as La Colombe d’Or.
Arrive in Cannes and walk along the famous Croisette Boulevard, lined with the Film Festival Palace, designer boutiques, and elegant sandy beaches. Embellished with palm trees and lined with luxury cafés, upscale shops, and grand hotels, Cannes has become one of the most iconic towns on the French Riviera.
You will see where the world-famous film festival takes place near the Palais des Festivals and the conference center. Most of your time here will be spent discovering the town, soaking up the glamorous atmosphere, and enjoying excellent shopping opportunities.
After your stop in Cannes, it will be time to head back to Monaco. Your guide will drive you back to the port and drop you off at your cruise ship, bringing your French Riviera shore excursion to a relaxed and memorable close.
