Embark on a full-day private shore excursion from Honfleur Cruise Port to the magnificent Palace of Versailles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most iconic symbols of French royal history.
In the morning, your English-speaking driver will meet you just outside the cruise terminal in Honfleur, holding a sign with the lead traveler’s name. After introductions and a brief overview of the day, board your premium air‑conditioned private vehicle and begin the 2.5–3 hour drive toward Versailles, with a comfort stop en route if needed. An internal PA system allows your driver to provide commentary during the journey.
On arrival, admire the impressive façade and vast forecourt of the château before your guide leads you to the entrance. Listed as a UNESCO site since 1979, Versailles evolved from a hunting lodge under Louis XIII into a spectacular royal residence under Louis XIV, and remained the seat of the French monarchy until the reign of Louis XVI.
With your pre-booked passport tickets (included), enjoy access to the main highlights of Versailles. Follow your guide through key rooms such as the King’s Apartments, the Hall of Mirrors, and other richly decorated spaces that illustrate the power and prestige of the French court.
After the palace visit, you can continue exploring the wider estate at your own pace: stroll through the formal French gardens, see the fountains or musical gardens show on scheduled days, or, time permitting, head to the Trianon estate and the Queen’s Hamlet. Your guide will help you make the most of your time based on your interests and the day’s schedule.
At the end of your visit, meet your driver at the agreed meeting point and relax on the drive back to Honfleur. You will be dropped off at your ship in time for departure. This private tour is limited to 8 guests per minivan and can be customized to your preferences; if you wish to adjust the balance between palace, gardens, and Trianon estate, simply discuss it with your guide.
