Pascal’s depth of knowledge, concern for our comfort and safety, and overall execution of the tour could not have been better. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him and now have a much greater appreciation for this most significant historical event. Thank you.

  Trevor 25, Oct 2025 Our tour guide was Matt (the Englishman) on the half day tour. He was outstanding. There are tour guides who take you around and provide rote facts about what you’re seeing and then there are guides like Matt who clearly care deeply about the historical context and the stories of the people who were there and participated in the events that happened there. He made it a great experience, was friendly and funny, and had great stories to tell on the trips between locations. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who has any interest whatsoever in D-Day history! Thanks Matt!

  Luke 18, Oct 2025 Luana was a fantastic tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about not only the WWII/D-Day subjects but also about surrounding areas and Bayeux. The half day tour was perfect for our itinerary and we were very happy with how it went.
  The company was also very helpful in recommending solutions for a luggage storage issue that my partner and I had, which was completely unrelated to our tour and our business with Ophorus.
  I highly recommend!!

I would highly recommend this tour as very interesting and informative but not to long. Wish we could of recorded the commentary and listened to it again. Put on your comfy shoes

  Amy 23, Sep 2025 If I could give Pascal 10 stars I would. From the moment he started talking I knew I liked him and his knowledge of WWII is astounding. He explained what happened after WWI to cause WWII which made so much sense. I've always been somewhat intimidated by the history but it really came together. This tour is a must do.

  Noelle C 12, Jun 2025 Our family of four joined the afternoon tour last Thursday, June 12th. Our tour guide Pascal was amazing. He was very knowledgeable, engaging, and great at story telling. He brought photos, pictures, and key WW2 speech scripts to the tour to show us. Even my two teenagers were impressed by Pascal. We first visited Pointe Du Hoc, American Cemetery, and Omaha Beach. The sequence was intended for us to observe the American Flag lowering ceremony at 4 pm. It was moving to watch. This tour was the best tour we had during our one-week Europe trip.

At the end of our 10 day trip we wnet around and said our favorite day, and we ALL said this day! I could not reccomend this tour more!!

  Brenda P 18, Mar 2025 Our guide made the tour. He was fantastic. He was engaging and knowledgeable. My 19 and 17 year old sons loved him and were hooked from the first minutes of the tour. We learned to see DDay and all of the history in a far more nuanced way than what we had understood prior to the tour. The human aspect stories that deepened the historical accounts made it all the more fascinating. My kids still haven’t stopped talking about it.

  José M 10, Feb 2025 We just ended our tour with Matt and we are thrilled. We took this tour because we were very interested in the D-Day landing beaches in Normandy. But his explanation highly exceeded our expectations. He made it sound like a thriller, gradually gathering momentum while speaking about the differences between the Germans and the Allies. And then actually visiting the places where the landing took place... the bunkers, the German defending positions, the actual facts about the landing and the soldiers.. just incredible and absolutely moving!

  Becca R 31, Jan 2025 Matt was an EXCELLENT, and I mean top of the line guide. He knows his stuff, and even shared many facts and perspectives that I was not personally knowledgeable on. I’m serious, this guy is probably the best guide I have ever had and I am traveling CONSTANTLY. It’s incredible how he explains what was going on historically before and during WW2, and provides context for some of the storylines that aren’t exactly published in books or general public knowledge. He has even gone to the extreme of interviewing survivors and local people who have directly experienced WW2 and German occupation. Talk about dedication to your craft. The most important thing about this tour (stated by Matt) is everyone, especially every American, should make it their personal mission to learn about these stories and history. He is right- the first hand accounts are few and far between, and it is actually important we learn our own history. You cannot truly learn this without an experience like this. THANKS MATT!

  Roberto R 24, Nov 2024 My adult son and I booked the half day, D-Day tour. We were excited about the tour ahead of time and anticipated that it would be both educational and emotional. The experience FAR exceeded both our expectations. From the minute we met our tour guide Matt, we were masterfully taken on an educational journey. Matt told us at the beginning he was going to talk to us for four hours straight and he kept his promise, sharing the history of the Liberation from all sides, American, British, French and of course German. Matt was highly attentive to the needs of each guest and found time to interact individually with all of us. It made for a very special trip. Upon conclusion of the tour Matt shared advice on where we should go to lunch, other D Day spots to visit as well as additional local points of interest. All in all a 10 out of 10!

The complex issues involved in the landings at D Day were made very clear, and John did a fantastic job explaining all of the artifacts left on the site. We also saw the American cemetery with its endless rows of crosses and stars with the young American soldiers killed that day to save their country. We were there for taps and the lowering of the flag. Very moving. A day not to be forgotten. Thank you, John.

As adult children of fathers who fought in WW2 we were very touched to see the landing beaches, bunkers, and monuments. In addition the American Cemetery was heartbreaking but as good a statement one might make on the tragedy of war. We had a nice small group who bonded and many were able to add information to the history enlivening the experience.

We did the 4 hour (half day) tour to Pont du hac, Omaha beach, and American soldier cemetery and it was the highlight of my entire trip to Paris. Mael was so knowledgeable and was able to answer all questions and told stories that really showed his passion for history. He also told captivating stories of his grandmother’s experience during the war and even other history pertaining to the war that is not commonly shared. I will definitely be coming back here again to bring my 13 year old WWII buff son.

Gave us a vivid tour through the German bunkers and pillboxes at Pont-du-Hoc, then took us to Omaha Beach … one of two US landing sites on D-Day. Final stop was the site of the US Cemetery. Over 9000 US casualties on June 6, 1944. The future of keeping history alive will soon depend on young guides like Chloe! As a result, we will be more engaged in learning much more about WWII military history. Thank you Chloe!

The trip was perfect - just long enough at each stop to take in the history and the emotions of what happened there 80 years ago. We visited the main spots of the battle of Normandy and saw so much. It is definitely worth the time if you are in the area.

He's so knowledgeable and passionate about his work and told us about some of the research and interviews he's done as well as the stories that he's gained from the many veterans he's had the honor to host. The tour is very well organized, and you hit the main sites and learn a lot on the way to and from the area. Highly recommend the half day tour if you have only a day in Bayeux and want to enjoy the day trip and the town.

Matt - our tour guide - had clearly done extensive research on the history of D-Day and the region and was able to bring events to life through his story telling. He added lots of colour and context to events that we would never have received from a self tour or museum visit. We had members of our group aged from early teens to seniors and everyone loved the tour. Highly recommend!!

  I don’t think I’ve ever had a tour guide as knowledgeable, as funny, as clearly passionate about the history and stories and people, and as enjoyable as Matt.
  
  I would recommend everyone who comes to Normandy gets a tour from Matt. He tells such great stories, can answer any question, really makes you think about the history, embraces the somber, and is just all around fantastic.
  
  The van was really nice and it didn’t feel like a big tour experience with a coach bus.
  
  I really think this is a must do for everyone who visits France.

He is so knowledgeable, integrating information he has learned from an array of sources, including many conversations with war veterans over the years. He is passionate about telling and preserving the memory of our veterans with pride, patriotism and humor. He was so engaging and addressed the needs of our group of 6 with such kindness and respect. We had never been to Normandy or the D-Day beaches/American Cemetary and learned more than we ever imagined. It was a well-planned excursion that we would highly recommend to all.   Our guide Valentine was highly knowledgeable. He spoke very good English with a strong French accent which made some words difficult to understand but he was very accommodating to explain when needed.

Our day to Omaha beach was so cold and rainy but it certainly provided a perspective on what the men went through while fighting for us.

The time at the American cemetary was what I'd hoped. We saw the flags lower as taps was played. Everyone in the park stopped. Many covered their hearts, others saluted. As a vet, I was deeply moved. There was time for quiet reflection. The guide was outstanding. He did not present a cinema/history script, but a remarkable, human story that bought me closer to the young men resting under the crosses.

I had visited Normandy in the past, but this tour gave me so much more information and was a significantly better experience. He was so interactive and involved and answered all of our questions throughout the tour. The half day was great to go to three different places with a lot of history behind them. Our guide also had photos he showed us at each site. Highly recommend!

His perspective on what life was like for both the Allies and Germans was very informative and slightly different then you normally hear on these tours. I highly recommend him and his company.

He quizzed the kids after and they got all his questions right. 4 hours was a perfect amount of time also! I will definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a tour.

We had Matt Turner as our guide for the American sector - he was absolutely amazing. He was clearly so passionate about the topic, so friendly and charismatic. Even had us welling up at parts when he told the story of the Omaha landings. He absolutely made our trip! Whatever he’s getting paid is not enough, can’t recommend him as a guide enough!

  Daniel R 07, Sep 2023 Valentine did an excellent job leading this tour. He was incredibly knowledgeable, personable and organized. Obviously, DDay is a massive subject that touched so many lives, and Valentine was able to walk us through the specifics while at the same time give us an overall feeling and impression of how awful and challenging that day must have been. Valentine took questions without hesitation and due to his great intelligence was able to respond quickly and succinctly. Logistically, he navigated the sea of tourists and traffic brilliantly and was able to make us feel like we were the only ones there. He also helped us see the events of that day from various viewpoints - American, British, French, Canadian and German - which I feel was critical for trying to understand DDay. On a personal level, he also helped me locate the grave a close friend's brother which was very moving not only to me but to my parents who weren't even there. I think this tour was well worth the money and time. I learned a great deal. I will remember it forever. Thank you, Valentine!!

We spent the perfect amount of time at each stop and really felt that we got a comprehensive tour of iconic D-Day sites. Even though it is a “group” tour, we were only sharing our guide/van with one other family, so it felt very intimate and personal. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Normandy!

The cemetery is a sacred place. Omaha Beach and Pont Du Hoc are must sees. I would highly encourage you to book with Matt and you will not be disappointed. We should have done a full day tour.

  Matt, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and passionate retelling this very important part of history. Our teenage son considered it the highlight of the holiday. It was also the small touches that made the tour special - Matt knew when to relay the stories and when to give us time to absorb the atmosphere - to try to imagine what it must have been like for both sides under those conditions.
  A big thank you to Matt for helping us to reflect on the past and to bring history to life.

He never introduced himself ( I still don't know his name) nor did he try and engage with anyone on the tour, ask where we were from, our names, etc. He was very mechanical. He drove us to all the spots listed on the tour, but then we were on our own once we got to the destination.We saw other tour guides actually showing and talking about the sites you were at and taking their people around. We actually started following another tour because their guide was so awesome. I would not recommend this tour. Find another

  Megan 04, Aug 2023 I wanted a full day, tween wanted a half day. Tween won. We arrived at van 2 min late having gotten lost between bayeux twisty streets and phone gps (which was having seizures). . Car was illegally parked and wasn’t sure I could find it again. Did I mention it was raining sideways?
  
  With that setting, John our guide did a brilliant job painting the past into an image we could see on Omaha beach. Even tween was interested. I sacrificed the cemetery visitor center for the flag lowering ceremony but honestly wish I had spent more time at the center. It really was a great tour especially if you’re time/attention span pressed. Id go back for a full day in a heartbeat.
  
  And we found our car again with no parking ticket! Winner!

The four hours tour was worth it in every way. We had a very knowledgeable guide in John and he answered all questions while giving the group plenty of information and time to absorb the places for the US D Day landings. All in all a good experience.

With Matt our tour was exciting, funny, memorable, informative, and one of our favorite days on the trip. There are no words to describe how knowledgeable and respectful he is of D Day and all that comes with visiting the sites. The afternoon was well balanced between driving, listening to Steven but also free walking around moments. As a French citizen, Steven's explanations and visual materials truly gave a new depth to the visits, not only on a touristic point of view but also for remembrance duty. Merci beaucoup Steven !

I was able to go to Point du Hoc, Omaha Beach and one of the American cemeteries. The guide, Steve, took us back in time and gave us many little anecdotes that I had never heard. It was very moving to be there and this tour was just what I was looking for. I highly recommend for people who don’t have much time but who still want to pay their respects and experience as much of Normandy as possible.

Stephan was an awesome guide and was very flexible with stopping whenever we found a bunker interesting AND still got us to the cemetery well in time for taps. Definitely worth doing to enjoy this historical landmark to the fullest. SUGGESTION: I personally love small stories so maybe including more throughout the tour would make it even more breathtaking and personal. Overall an amazing trip by an amazing guide!
