Private US D-Day Sites Tour from Bayeux
Embark on an immersive journey to the key US D-Day sites in Normandy, where the Allied landings of June 6, 1944 began the liberation of France.
Pick-Up in Bayeux and Surroundings
Begin your day with convenient pick-up from your accommodation in Bayeux or nearby. Meet your English-speaking driver-guide, who will present the day’s program and adapt the pace to your interests and timing.
Our experienced guides know the region intimately and focus on the major US D-Day landmarks. They can suggest lunch options along the way or, if you prefer, we can reserve a restaurant in advance.
Design Your Personalized D-Day Itinerary
During booking, you select the US D-Day sites you most want to visit. Your guide then builds a logical route that maximizes time at the key locations while keeping driving times reasonable.
Omaha Beach
Walk along Omaha Beach, where American troops faced the strongest German defenses, heavy fire, and high casualties on D-Day. Your guide will explain how the assault unfolded and how the beachhead was secured, a story famously depicted in the opening of “Saving Private Ryan.”
Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer
Pay your respects at the Normandy American Cemetery, final resting place of 9,387 US soldiers. From the bluff above Omaha Beach, you will see the crosses and Stars of David, the memorial, reflection pool, and visitor center that together honour the scale of sacrifice in the Battle of Normandy.
Utah Beach
Discover Utah Beach, the westernmost landing sector where the US 4th Infantry Division came ashore. Learn how airborne troops, dropped inland hours before the landings, neutralised German positions and helped turn Utah into one of the day’s most successful operations.
Sainte-Mère-Église
Explore Sainte-Mère-Église, one of the first towns liberated in the early hours of June 6, 1944. Hear the story of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, their night drops from hundreds of C-47 aircraft and gliders, and their mission to secure the approaches to Utah Beach and the road to Cherbourg.
Pointe du Hoc
Visit Pointe du Hoc, a dramatic clifftop position between Omaha and Utah Beaches, fortified with German gun batteries that threatened the landings. Follow in the footsteps of the US Rangers who scaled the cliffs under fire to silence these guns, a daring assault that has become a symbol of courage and determination.
Important Notice – Pointe du Hoc Access
Please note: Due to ongoing road and construction works at Pointe du Hoc, access may be limited in 2026 and 2027. If the site is closed, your guide will substitute another major US D-Day location such as Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, Angoville, or Carentan to preserve the depth and balance of your visit.
An Unforgettable Day of Remembrance
This private tour is designed for international guests, couples, friends, and families who wish to gain a clear, respectful understanding of the US role in D-Day. With your expert guide, you will connect the landscape, the operations, and the personal stories that make these sites some of the most powerful in Normandy.

We met Magali at the Bayeux Train Station at 11:15a due to our 7:59a train getting cancelled and switching to a 9a direct train and she welcomed us with a big smile. We had a blast visiting all the beaches (5) and the American, Brittish and German graveyards. We wrapped up our trip having a wine and cheese party at an awesome cafe in her hometown of Bayeux and made our 7:47p train back to Paris with 5 minutes to spare…the perfect voyage!

Killyan, sorry if I misspelled his name, was a great guide. We took a full day tour to D-Day beaches, pivotal battle areas, and the American cemetary. He was very patient with the other part of our group, which one member was especially trying, at times. He was very knowledgeable and had great information to share. He was flexible with his timetable and managed to spend the right amount of time at all the stops on the tour. He had great recommendations on movies that would enhance our knowledge of D-Day. I would highly recommend this tour.
