Discover the Luberon Villages The Luberon is one of Provence’s most celebrated regions, known for rolling vineyards, olive groves, lavender fields, and hilltop villages built from warm limestone. Located within the Luberon Regional Natural Park, the area preserves traditional Provençal landscapes and rural heritage.
This full-day tour explores two of the region’s most emblematic villages, each offering a different perspective on Provençal life.
Gordes — Iconic Hilltop Village Perched dramatically above the valley, Gordes is famous for its stone houses, panoramic viewpoints, and historic castle. Often ranked among Les Plus Beaux Villages de France, its architecture blends harmoniously with the surrounding countryside, making it one of Provence’s most photographed locations.
Lourmarin — Provençal Lifestyle At the southern edge of the Luberon, Lourmarin offers a lively and welcoming atmosphere. Shaded squares, artisan boutiques, and cafés invite visitors to slow down and experience everyday Provençal life. Its Renaissance château and artistic heritage reflect the cultural richness of the region.
Olive Oil Heritage or Calisson Tradition From Monday to Saturday, the tour includes a visit to Bastide du Laval, a traditional olive oil estate where guests discover olive cultivation, production techniques, and the importance of olive oil in Mediterranean cuisine, followed by tastings.
On Sundays, when the mill is closed, the experience instead includes entry to the Calisson Museum of Roi René in Aix-en-Provence, dedicated to the region’s iconic almond-based sweet and its centuries-old confectionery tradition.
A Relaxed Small-Group Experience Limited to eight guests, the tour allows time to explore at a comfortable pace while benefiting from insights shared by an expert driver-guide. Travel takes place in a premium air-conditioned Mercedes minivan operated by Ophorus, specialists in small-group tours across France since 2005.

We took a tour to the Luberon Villages with Alex and it was a wonderful small group experience. The tour gave us just enough time at some of the most beautiful villages and Alex gave us many local recommendations and stories which made our tour even more enjoyable. Would highly recommend!

We had a great experience at villages of Luberon with tour guide Alex who is articulate and knowledgeable on the history and culture of Europe. It was our first trip to the village and mesmerised with the countryside and scenic views. We would recommend Alex with his vast experience and service level.

All 3 villages were beautiful. The views from Gordes were my favorite. It was breathtaking to see the village from the viewpoint. There was enough time in each village to wonder a bit and get a sample of the village. Morgan was a great guide.

Our guide, Camille, was very energetic and personable. I wouldn't have missed Senanque Abbey and could have a little more time there. It was the day's highlight.

Beautiful villages visited. Loved the Ochre path - wasn't sure what to expect but surpassed our expectations. Our guide Camille was flexible and gave us choices for how long to spend in each place. It was fast paced but had just enough time at each village to see what we needed to see

It was a great joy to see these gorgeous villages that I believe are difficult to access without a car. Lucille was very well informed, and also helpful and kind. The air-conditioned bus helped during the warm spells. Highly recommend if you can afford it!

I was lucky to have Caroline as my guide for three days in a row on separate tours. The first was a day trip to Cassis—what a lovely experience! The second trip was to the Luberon villages, and the third was a full day visit to Chateauneuf-du-Papes. I really enjoyed each one of these visits—just the right amount of “guided tour” and “self exploration”.
Caroline was funny, enthusiastic, and super knowledgeable. Fully-packed days, well designed. Enthusiastically recommended!

We went on this Luberon Villages Olive Oil tour on Sept 28. Beautiful day but windy. Thomas was an excellent and knowledgeable guide and made it interesting. Both towns were interesting and historic. The wine tasting was excellent. We definitely recommend this activity

This tour is delightful. We visited two little villages in the Luberon, enjoyed beautiful countrysides and learned so much while tasting incredible olive oil. I had tasted olive oil in Portugal and this was so so so much better! The farm and factory we visited makes approx 9 very different types of oil. The tasting process was very very well explained and I decided that olive oil for me should be a condiment. Lucille was our tour leader and made the trip so very very delightful . I highly recommend her and this unique tour.
