Carol S 09, Sep 2019 I would like to give Ophorus a ten star rating. I worked with, Elisa, via email to book transportation and tours for our group of seven senior citizens. Elisa, always promptly returned my my emails and answered clearly any questions I had regarding the requested services. When we were stranded at the Toulouse train station due to a train strike she arranged for a van to transport us to our destination.
Both the wine tour and the Art cave tours were phenomenal. We were fortunate to have, Ben, for driver and guide on both tours. His knowledge of the area and prehistory made both tours the most memorable part of our trip to the Dordogne. It is without hesitation that I highly recommend Ophorus for tours and transportation when visiting the Dordogne.

Yes, absolutely, we will come and pick you up at your hotel or accommodation in Sarlat. We can also pick you up within a radius of 30kms (20 miles) around Sarlat at no extra cost.
What type of vehicles are used during your wine tours from Sarlat?

Our company uses only Mercedes Vito Tourer 8 seater minivans that are recent, comfortable and fully equipped including individual A/C, shaded windows, large leg space and on board P/A system for commentaries by the guide.
Who conducts your private wine tours from Sarlat?

We only employ fully accredited, licensed tour guides that are also the drivers for all tours that need visits to be conducted by certified guides. Good examples are: the visit of the National Prehistory Museum, guided walking tours in villages such as Rocamadour, visit of historical monuments and so on.

For this particular day trip, your tour will be conducted by one of our guides that has excellent knowledge in local Bergerac & Dordogne wines.
Which Vineyards of the Dordogne will we visit?

On this private wine tour from Sarlat we will take you to the Bergerac Wine region first. After a visit & wine tasting at a carefully selected winery we will take you to the charming small town of Bergerac where you will have time for lunch (at own expense). In the afternoon, we will take you to the Pecharmant Wine region. Finally, on the way back to Sarlat we will stop in one of the last remaining local wineries of the area.
How many / much wines are served in the Wineries?

Usually the wineries will have you taste the wines that are produced in their wineries. For the Bergerac wines, wineries can produce reds, whites, rosés and sweet white wines. In the Pecharmant wine region, red wine is the main wine that is produced.

No, we never include lunch on our private full day tours from Sarlat. If you would like to include a lunch in a local restaurant don't hesitate to reach out and our travel advisors will take care of your restaurant reservation.
