The small group of 8 worked really well and we had 3 excellent vineyard visits and tastings, all to interesting and beautiful vineyards. The time in St. Emilion was great - it is a beautiful and fascinating town. Guy was a very knowledgeable and friendly driver/guide whose familiarity with the area made the whole day a great success.

The vineyard we visited was historic and located on a hill with beautiful views, and the wines we tasted were excellent. I will definitely use this company again for future vineyard tours !

It was a terrific group of 8 people from the United States, Ireland & Australia. All very lovely people. Saint-Emilion is a charming town & we spent time (including wine tastings) at 3 very nice wineries. It was a full day trip & I highly recommend it. Great experience so close to Bordeaux!

Then went to St Emillion for lunch and to explore/free time, then a last winery. It felt very well paced and not like we were rushing anywhere. Really enjoyed it!

We had 4 groups of 2 on our van. Good experience with the group. Mostly Americans with a few Canadians on our English tour. Visited 3 different wineries. Not all were officially in Saint Emilion. . We got time for lunch in the city. However, there is no time actually seeing the underground which i had hoped for but perhaps should not have expected.

Just the right balance of information, fun facts, food, walking, and of course wine tasting. Rumors of only getting a small sip or two are unfounded, as we enjoyed more than 10 different wines at three different locations. Vans were comfortable and we were treated to a fun filled completion on our drive back to Bordeaux. 5 Stars!

I visited both the Medoc (left bank) and Saint Émilion (right bank) on two separate full day tours with Ophorus. Both day trips were fantastic with a knowledgeable guide, comfortable transport, small groups, and visits to stunning Chateaux. Our guide, Laetitia, was fantastic! Laetitia had incredible knowledge and communicated this in an interesting and engaging manner. She was very friendly and extremely helpful in providing great recommendations throughout the day and for the remainder of our stay in Bordeaux. Includes transportation from the center of Bordeaux, three tastings and a guided tour of the city of about 40-45 minutes. It was a great experience! We loved the activity. Our guide Laetitia was charming and is also a great expert on the region and its wines. We learned a lot from her. The tastings were very interesting and so was the visit to Saint Emilion. Laetitia advised us on where to eat and, in addition to the guided tour, we had some time to explore a little on our own. We would recommend this experience 100%.

Raymond 05, Mar 2024 Fabulous trip of Saint-Emilion. I was worried that because of the rainy down-pour, the tour would be cancelled, but it went ahead and our guide did a fantastic job adapting. The 3 estates we visited were a good variety, but I found the highlight to be the town of Saint-Emilion itself. Some reviewers have found the lunch break in the town to be too long, however, my tip would be to save the big meal for when you get back to Bordeaux and instead grab a quick lunch and make use of the remaining time to explore the beautiful town on your own pace. It's a chance to a more in depth and personal visit of the sites that were introduced and there are so many shops and sights - and especially the marvelous church that's worth a visit.

He took us to three Chateaus with wonderful wines to sample. We had 2 hours to spend on our own in St. Emilion, dining at Lard et Bauchon- excellent location for lunch and walking the beautiful streets. The town is absolutely stunning. Karim’s wit and charm made the entire experience well worth the investment.

Getting to see the town of St. Emilion was wonderful and having some time to explore and the tour from Rodeolphe was an added bonus.

Michelle 04, Nov 2023 It was a lovely day all the way around. We were diverted through Bordeaux on the way to Paris and spent the day doing this tour with Julie as our tour guide. She was polite, professional, drove safely and informed us throughout the day about the history of the region and knew her wine. We did 3 wine stops/tastings all great wine and had 90 minutes to lunch and peruse St Emilion. Afterwards we re-grouped and Julie provided a walking and informative tour of the town. Worth every penny and by far a better tour than we experienced in Napa/Sonoma, CA.

Michelle McCormick 03, Nov 2023 My husband and I took the Bordeaux: Full-Day St Emilion Wine Tasting Tour on Oct 28, 2023 and unfortunately forgot our lovely tour guides name (too much wine, lol). We enjoyed the tour so much I made sure to reach out to the tour company to request her name was told it was Julie. Julie was on time, professional, prepared, organized, drove safely, followed a great itinerary, kept everyone informed and took care of our group of 8 the entire day. She used a headset to narrate on the way to and throughout the wine region. She engaged with all of us in route to break the ice of everyone not knowing each other. She escorted our group into each winery, stayed with us (instead of just pulling up and saying hop out) and gave us 90 minutes of free time to lunch and shop at our leisure in the village of St Emillion. The we all re-grouped in the village square for a narrated walking tour of the village by Julie. She was full of information all day and impressively conducted our 3rd and final tasting at the end of the day. We were highly impressed!! We went to 3 wineries and the village. It was worth every penny and minute spent! We especially enjoyed the small group and personal experience. She even took the wine we had purchased to our van for us and placed everything in the back to keep organized. This tour far out performed a recent wine tour we took in Napa/Sonoma, California in comparison. A wonderful day all around!!! The tour was great and our guide was a bright, smart, intelligent human being. We wish Julie well in her life and compliment this tour company as well.

He did everything to make us comfortable and welcome and we could learn a lot about wine, Saint Emilion and France during the time that the excursion lasted. I would definitely recommend it to everyone that comes to Bordeaux.

Matthew 23, Oct 2023 Wow! Our tour was amazing, our guide was so knowledgeable and a local to the Bordeaux area. From start to finish we learned SO much about the area, wine, and just so much info we would have never gotten had we gone on our own. The size of our tour group was perfect as we all got to ask questions and the group was still small. The pace of the tour was perfect as well it did not feel rushed and we had time to eat lunch and explore the town in between wineries.
We cannot wait to come back and do another tour!

We took the day trip from Paris, and even though it was a long day, it was 110% worth it. She is so kind and authentic, and made extra stops so that we could get special photo opportunities (as that as important to us). If you are trying do decide whether to take a wine tasting trip in Bordeaux, you should do it - and be sure to book Justine! She is the best of the best and made our trip so memorable!

Our host was full of knowledge and really made our day fun, educational and interesting!! The Chateaus we visited had fantastic unique qualities and each guide was very friendly. We would definitely recommend this tour! I especially loved the story about the bees! Girl power spice bees!!!

We learned quite a bit about wine making and about the different vintages. There was also some colorful history to learn about the subterranean tunnels beneath the winery.
The tasting was a lovely affair, with Helen pouring generously for the guests who enjoyed this.
Following the vineyard tour Helen took us to the ancient city of St Emilion. There she pointed out various beautiful vistas and also shared more of the history of the region.

Hélène led us through three different wineries, where we gained a deep understanding of the winemaking process. Her knowledge—down to the last grape—was truly impressive.

What sets Hélène apart, though, is her incredible charisma. She made the tour not just educational but also highly entertaining. Her friendliness and engaging personality made the experience memorable. She deserves all the praise she receives!

Our small group, limited to eight tourists, created a comfortable and intimate atmosphere. It allowed for more personalized interactions and enhanced the overall experience. And, of course, the wines we tasted were absolutely delicious, showcasing the best of the region.

I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area—the central and convenient pick-up and drop-off location in front of the Bordeaux tourist office was the icing on the cake. This tour was truly the highlight of our trip to the region!

The tour was of 3 great wineries with rich history and amazing Merlot. As luck would have it we visited one Chateau on its first day of harvest. There was definitely a buzz in the air!
Every stop during our excursion provided an opportunity to learn more about the wine industry and to enjoy several tastings.
We would highly recommend this tour and Justine.

We got to visit 3 x chateaus with wine tasting. We really enjoyed the opportunity to see some of the galleries of Saint Emilion. We had enough time in the town to walk around with having a light lunch instead of a sit down restaurant meal. Helen was really knowledgeable and took the time to make her own book with resources and pictures to help explain the process of the wine making and the region. Very comfortable Mercedes mini-van with nice sound for the tour narrative and good climate control. Also Maude is a great driver. We had 7 people in our group so it was very intimate. The only thing that could be improved is to mention that it is a red wine tour… I didn’t know the wine regions of France, and if I’d have know that it was only red wine we were to be tasting, I’d have changed my tour. I do enjoy red wine, however it was around 38 degrees and drinking warm red wines was not as enjoyable as a cold white would have been.

Will C 25, Aug 2023 We had a brilliant day tasting wine at different Château and in Saint Emilion. As well as being lovely and friendly, our guide was very knowledgeable and experienced. We left with a lot more knowledge and insight of the wines, Château and winemaking processes. She gave us a quick (which was ideal because it was extremely hot on the day of our tour) guided tour of Saint Emilion which is a stunningly beautiful village.
The best thing about the tour is, of course, the wine. All the wines we tasted were amazing and it was hard to pick our favourites. However, our guide and the experts from the Châteaus provided excellent commentary on all of the wines which really added to the experience.

The tour was arranged nicely, with a visit to three producers in total, in addition to approx 1hr30 free time in Saint Èmilion for lunch and shopping. Fear not, there are plenty of bistros to choose from, as well as wine merchants.

A perfect insight into the right bank. Go for it!

He was also very accommodating to everyone's preferences on the trip. Overall this is a fabulous trip. You pass through beautiful countryside with lots of vineyards, have 3 stops, lovely wine tasting and an unmissable visit to the beautiful Saint Emilion. Cannot recommend this trip enough.

Chase 22, Aug 2023 I really enjoyed this tour! My husband felt ill, so I ended up going on the tour by myself and still had a great time. My tour guide Jerome shared a passion and knowledge for wine. It was interesting to learn proper wine tasting technique and what characteristics to look for. We visited 3 châteaus and got to try multiple wines at each! We also stopped for lunch by the St. Emilion cathedral and got to learn about the town. Jerome have a guided tour while driving to each location and shared knowledge of Bordeaux and the wine history of the regions. I’d highly recommend the tour and would go again!

HT1 21, Aug 2023 Highly recommend this tour. We stopped at 3 different vineyards with generous tastings. All off the busy tourist trails so we had the experience to ourselves. New comfortable vehicle, a great guide with stories and chat throughout. It was just 7 of us so we had a very personalised tour. Each stop was excellent. It was not rushed and we had some free time to expore Saint Emilion town and have lunch. Plenty of recommendations from our guide. Overall a great day out and highly recommended. A half day tour is too rushed.

The three wineries welcomed the group, all provided educational components in addition to the tastings. We stopped for a leisurely 1h 45m lunch which gave us time to get to know some of our travelling partners. Hugo provided an excellent tour of the Medoc region, he shared a deep understanding of the region, its wines, a broader view of French history, tips for what to see and do in Bordeaux region. The tour was fun and engaging.

The guide was very knowledgeable and the lunch was very good. The walking tour of old Bordeaux was also excellent. We would not have seen as much of it if left to our own devices.

We loved this tour! Our guide was Amazing! She was very knowledgeable, fun, and accommodating.
We went to three wineries total.
In Saint Emilion, we had time to have lunch at a very nice restaurant. Our tour guide made reservations for us at our request.
Saint Emilion is very beautiful. The streets are cobblestone so be careful while walking.
This tour was definitely worth every penny spent!

He was funny and provided us with lots of information about the area and wineries. Definitely would recommend this tour company. We visited 3 wineries in total with lunch in the cute medieval village of St Emilion. The pickup point is at the tourist office in Bordeaux by the Theater/Opera and Intercontinental Hotel. Great central pickup point.

The châteaux visits were very interesting and I learned a lot on the day but it was Karim, our guide who made it memorable. I especially loved the "What are you smelling" game we played, it was great fun and made the return journey just fly by. Karim, our driver and guide was very friendly, knowledgeable on local wines/chateaus and entertained us the whole time. We had enough free time in St. Emilion to explore the village and have lunch. Karim played a little wine aromas game with us on the way back which is a great way to end the trip. For the three chateaus visited, the chateau de la rivière was amazingly beautiful and the chateau Bellevue’s Marlo was our favorite. The last chateau could be little bit better but the overall experience was very nice. I would recommend this tour.

The only negative thing is that the tour doesn't offer enough time to explore the very beautiful village of Saint Emilion, though the title of the tour is "with Sightseeing", specially the megalithic church, the highlight of the village. I think three wine tastings is too much, and this way there will be enough time to enjoy the picturesque village of Saint Emilion.

What a tremendous experience! Justine was professional, knowledgable, energetic and friendly. She had excellent restaurant recommendations for our lunch breaks on both days and even made the reservations for us. I enjoyed learning about wine and the region, touring the wineries and of course the wine tastings. At Chateau Palais Cardinal, we had the pleasure of eating different chocolate that complimented the wines we tasted. The highlight was visiting Saint Emilion. Check with the tour company to see when your free time is and maybe you can book a tour of the monolithic church and underground areas through the Saint Emilion Tourism website ahead of time. If you haven't consumed too much wine, be sure to visit the tourism office across from the bell tour and for 2 euros and get the key to climb the bell tower for a spectacular view.

The perfect mix of guided experiences and individual exploration, I would recommend this to anyone remotely interested in wine or the Bordeaux region. We came away from it feeling much more well equipped to buy and taste wine from Bordeaux but also back at home. Looking for scents and tasting notes seemed over our head going into this but we definitely learned what to look for and how the whole process is much more relaxed than we expected.

Now I’ll get to our tour guide - Karim. It was his birthday the day we went (if you see this, happy birthday again Karim!). He was EXCELLENT - extremely fun and personable, knowledgeable and passionate, and provided us with so much interesting knowledge about the history of the region and the wine production as well as how best to taste the wine itself. Hands down one of the best tour guides I have ever had anywhere. Would love to come back here again and take another tour with Karim.

Scott Dailey 30, Mar 2023 Angie, our host was sensational. We weren't in the van five minutes and she said, "...you know the smell of the forrest after a fresh rain? That is the beauty and fragrance of Saint-Emilion." And that was the experience just beginning the drive. Angie is a fountain of knowledge, sure. But that's incidental. I'd expect and frankly insist upon being in the company of a wine expert on a wine tasting tour of Saint-Emilion, Bordeaux. But Angie is not a tour guide. She is a passionate lover of the experiential nature of wine. Hand me a paint brush and I'll convince you in seconds I'm no artist. Hand Angie the keys to a van, fill it with petrol and aim it at Saint-Emilion and Angie is a force. She spoke seemingly limitlessly about how wine transforms any innocuous or monumental moment into a life-long memory. I know this all sounds gratuitous and pretentious, but attend her tours and you will see. Angie is the kind of person you want touring wine country with you.

My brother and I did an all-day tasting tour at three wineries. In order they were, Château Rol Valentin, Château Franc Mayne, both in Saint-Émilion and Château Ferrand, in Pomerol.

The first two wineries came before lunch, while Château Ferrand was visited directly following lunch.

Though the tastings themselves did not comprise a great deal of wine, a small tasting pour per winery, I understood that with thousands of wineries peppering the countryside in Bordeaux, it's important to know that these wineries are largely, if not entirely, labors of love, commonly comprising generations of family producing it. That said, you will be encouraged (politely) to purchase each winery's wine. And yes, I did. Between my brother and I, we bought about three cases of wine (assorted). And yes, all wineries in Bordeaux ship globally.

Each winery host was gracious, an ardent student of wine, and at each turn stressed the unquestionable quotient of the wine-making process that demands love. The wines were transcendent, of course. But the experience? There's no lens on earth, mounted to any camera on earth that will capture the experience, so just go.

Drop what you're doing, leave that late report late, or the PowerPoint undone. Book this tour, request Angie be your guide and enjoy! Travel well, My Friends!

After the second Château we were on our own for several hours in the beautiful little town of St. Emilion. Then on to a third in Fronsac. There is no way we could have done this on our own, especially in a beautiful new Mercedes van.
All of the wines were excellent! We honestly didn’t expect that!

We were blessed with the fabulous tour guide Virna who was both informative and fun. Also had a great tour group that provided plenty of laughs during the day. One tip for visitors to St Emillion...wear flat rubber soled shoes as the cobble stoned laneways are steep, uneven & slippery. There's nothing we could have faulted. 10/10!

A must-do! Highly recommended! Karim was a great guide and brought us to lovely wineries steeped in history! In addition, he is super knowledgeable about the history and stories of Bordeaux and it really makes the trip so much more fun.
His recommendations for lunch are spot-on too! The little town of St. Emilion is gorgeous and perfect for lunch. All the vineyards are just magical and I loved the pride and passion from each and every one of them. Definitely enjoyable and I will come back again for more!

Saint Emilion was a lovely town. Luigi was very engaging. The quality of the wine tasting /experience was not so good.
Got off to a great start with Delphine but that was the best. The second who was also an exporter was passionate about his wines but it wasn’t an engaging experience overall. The last stop was limited in tour although a beautiful location. Needs some additional work on having a cellar door. It’s about the customer experience. Potential is amazing. Lovely locations, not good value for money at all.

Good day at three places to taste. Karim our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. Stops at Chateau de La Dauphine, Chateau Cadet Bon and La Croizille were all informative and good tastings. Two hours of free time for Lunch and walk around great village of Saint Emilion. On the way home Karim had a fun game of identifying different smells of wine. Overall a good day and recommend the tour with Karim.

It was such a wonderful day. Luigi was a great guide, very helpful. Worth every penny. Visited 3 different vineyards in the St Emilion region and they all had their different style. We tasted 11 (!) wines that day, with many high rated grand cru, grand cru classé and pomerol wines. The walk around the St Emilion village was lovely, and it was great to have a break in the tour to go for lunch. Highly recommend this tour.

We had a great time on this full-day tour of Saint Emilion. Our tour guide Emily was so knowledgeable and friendly. We learned so much from her just on the ride from Bordeaux to Saint Emilion. Some things of note, we only drank red wine and the wifi was not working on the van. However, they provided water on the van and ample time to explore Saint Emilion and get lunch. On this tour, we did 3 wineries and the experiences were all very different. In total we tried 11-12 wines. (Also we want to thank Emily for the fantastic dinner recommendation. It was our favorite meal in Bordeaux.)

A few tips: Pre-book a lunch spot in Saint Emilion for around 13:30 (places get very full and also start closing around 14:30)

We went on two wine tasting/tours on back-to-back full days. St. Emilion and Medoc. The entire experience was beyond fabulous! The wineries selected were fantastic. Both days we had lunch in town (St. Julien and Pomerol at wonder restaurants as well as a brief but spectacular tour of St. Emilion as the weather was a bit of a downer. Our guide was Jerome and he is superb. Can’t say enough about his knowledge, wit and professionalism - not to mention his country road driving skills in the rain! We will be back next year (fingers crossed) and we intend to explore more of the Bordeaux region.

Trip was amazing! Karim was very fun, engaging and knowledgeable. On top of that we visited a couple Grand Cru Classè wineries all with something different to offer and a different take on Saint-Emilion. Highly recommend for wine snobs all the way to beginners!

Todo estuvo perfecto ! Nuestro guía Lucci fue muy amable, muy conocedor de la región y los vinos (sommelier !), lo que le dio a la visita un plus. Los 3 châteaux que visitamos uno más bonito que el otro, riquísimas las degustaciones y muy muy atentas las tres personas que nos recibieron y mostraron sus lugares . Realmente vale la pena!

Saint Emilion was absolutely gorgeous and we visited 3 wineries, each with a kind and knowledgeable guide. We were expecting cheap pours lol but were pleasantly surprised with the tastings.

Very happy that we chose this tour and would definitely recommend - voilà!

Luckily our group was also small so it was easy to get around with less hassle. Met up in front of the tourism office, went to three different wineries with distinctive characters where we tasted 3-4 types of wine each along with visiting the cave and the vineyard while listening to each winery rep’s guide. There is a combination of independent lunch hour and guided walk around the town of St.Emilion in the afternoon. The weather held up as well and overall highly recommend. Merci bien!

vincentlI6642CM 22, Sep 2021 Tour started on time and on a very positive note thanks to our tour guide. *Forgot his name but our tour was his last day at work. He answered all our questions and offered good recommendations for lunch in St. Emillion. He was also knowledgeable about wines.

Visited 3 different vineyards and tasted 15 wines. Staff from the vineyards were passionate with what they did, highly engaging, informative and took their time with us.

You also get a tour of St. Emilion town and have some time to independently wander around.

Overall, had a very enjoyable day. It was such as perfect day aided by the great weather. It was as advertised but exceeded in terms of the experience expected with organized tours. Highly recommended and would do it again!

Due to Covid, the tour was changed. My friend and I joined a morning tour which included visiting two vineyards in Medoc. It was very lovely. And in the afternoon, we visited a vineyard in Saint Emilion and had an hour to visit the city.

Our guide for both tours was Karim and he was great. He was very knowledgeable! We had a great time. It was very hot, unseasonably plus 32 C. We ran around all day so we were both tired. You get a decent amount of wine at all of the vineyards. Be advised that there is no food included. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Nous avons eu la chance d’avoir un tour privé. Ce fût un moment exceptionnel! Christophe (le gérant) nous a fait une visite de la ville et de son histoire sur le chemin en allant à St-Emilion, c’était vraiment instructif.

Ensuite, les caves choisies sur place étaient géniales autant par la beauté du domaine que pour leur vin. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants et passionnés par leur métier, cela fait extrêmement chaud au cœur! Tout était facile durant ce tour! Je recommande vivement!

This is a tour that you can't miss if you are a wine lover. I visited many wineries over the world (e.g., Rhone valley, Burgundy, Hunter Valley, Yarra Valley, Niagara on the lake, Napa Valley, Douro valley in Porto, Hokkaido in Japan, etc...). This is one of the most enjoyable tours.

The tour guide Luigi is incredible. He is so knowledgeable in wine and accommodating. I made a remark on my booking saying that I wanted to visit Petrus. The 1st stop we went was Petrus. He allowed ample time for is to take pictures and experience the terroir. He also stopped us by in many super famous chateau in Pomerol (e.g., Petrus, Le Pin) and Saint Emilion (e.g., Ausone, Pavie).

This tour took us to a few chateau producing wine with special characters for tasting, which are not very commonly seen or available in the market. I felt no pressure to buy their wine after tasting but just felt being invited to appreciate their wines. The most exciting part was that he took me to taste vintage Armagnac 1977 and 1997 at a super good rate that I can never find in Hong Kong.

We stopped at a very historical town to have a lunch there, which is just next to Ch Ausone. Lots of choices there and Luigi made very good recommendations for us..Most of all, the price of the lunch was very reasonable, given the quality of food. Having a glass of Saint Emilion with a dish of a Confit de Canard right in the middle of a medieval town, it was an amazing experience.

On our way back, he arranged a smelling test for us to guess the food by smelling the essence oils. Although I have played this game for many times, I still found it very enjoyable hosted by Luigi. The only problem is that time is too short to enjoy so many things in a day. If you are a true wine lover (not a wine label lover) and have some background knowledge with wine, and you don't really want to spend a lot of money, you will find this tour amusing. Go with Luigi.

The tour was a wonderful experience and the guide, Emily, was wonderful, as well. The tour involved three different wineries featuring very different wines and terroir and a short tour of St. Emilion and time to walk around the town and have lunch on our own.

The guides at each of the wineries were also very personable and knowledgeable and the owner of one of the wineries gave the tour at our last stop.
