VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION: In case of bad weather (Wind, rain, waves) and for clients security, the boat ride can be cancelled in Cassis. In that case, your guide will take you to visit the Cosquer cave museum and then bring you to Cassis village. Also, in case of bad weather, Cap Canaille access may also be closed. 

  • Season: Available from April to the end of October.
  • Departure Point: Tour departs from the centrally located Aix-en-Provence Tourism Office.
  • Group Size: Small group tour with a maximum of 8 participants for a personalized experience.
  • Minimum Requirement: Minimum of 2 adults required for the tour to operate. In case this minimum isn't met, we will offer to reschedule or provide a full refund.

He knew a lot of fun facts about the city, was a good driver and gave a lot of useful tips for nice restaurants and shops. The tour combines perfectly planned activities with enough breaks and free time in between. Definitely recommend! And Julien is a terrific photographer, he will make sure you have pictures of all these beautiful memories.e

As an art historian he was able to share fascinating information about the art of Provence, as well as its history, geology, culture and natural history and engage us with our questions . Cassis was a charming seaside village and the boat tour of the Calanques was beautiful.He took us into numerous shops for discussions about coral jewelry, perfume making, confections, etc. We appreciated all the free tastings and squirts of perfumes! He picked a great restaurant overlooking the sea. At our wine tasting event he shared his extensive knowledge of wine and winemaking. The van was comfortable and cool and Alex drove safely.

I love that we got to stop in at Cassis for 2 hours for lunch, understanding that lunch is a busy time made sure to point out favourites spots beforehand and let us go to them before every spot was filled. Ideally I would have done a different wine tasting as the one we visited felt a little rushed, but is at no fault to our guide. Overall gret experience !

He had a great sense of humor and read the group of 8 total well. It felt very leisurely as opposed to other tours I've had in the past. I'm so glad we opted in to this tour and will look to book with this company again in the future.

    Our tour guide and driver was Jillian from Ophorous tours. Jillian was friendly, a great driver, knowledgeable about all things regarding Cassis, provided great pro-tips as to where to eat and shop and was always available to take those priceless photos. The van was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked well.
    Our tour started with a boat ride to the coves of the national park. Fortunately/smartly Jillian and the boat captain were able to get us out to the park/coves prior to all the other boats full of tourists arrived. The boat was the perfect size for our small group of 10. By arriving at the coves early, we were able to get great photo opportunities and enjoy the stunning beauty of this wonderful national park.
    After the hour boat ride, we headed back to the town of Cassis where Cassis was able to walk us around and provide pro-tips as to where to eat and shop. The places where we went, based upon Jillian's recommendations, were outstanding. The time allotted to us in the town of Cassis was sufficient for us to eat, shop, walk around without feeling rushed.
    Following our Cassis town visit, we headed up to a high vantage point/cliff overlooking Cassis and the national park. The views from this location were priceless and enabled us to get incredible photos. Even though I suffer from a bit of vertigo, I thoroughly enjoyed the visit to this location.
    Thereafter, we visited a local winery. The tour of the winery was provided by an employee of the winery and was really good, thorough and enabled us to taste a number of different wines, all which were really good and reasonably priced. We were also allowed to observe the bottling process of the wines. I found the process fascinating and even though I have been to more than my share of wineries I had never had the opportunity to experience this process.
    Overall this was a very enjoyable tour and a great way to finish our vacation in Provence.

We were super hesitant about going but our tour guide Julien made the journey easy, he explained everything in multiple languages, gave us dinner and dessert recommendations, and even took pictures when we asked! The boat tour and views in Cassis were beautiful and there was a good amount of time on your own to wander. The wine tasting included several wines. Would recommend for a well-rounded day trip to Cassis!

The day started with a boat trip to view the Calanques in and around Cassis. Lunch on our own and sufficient free time then a trip up a beautiful mountain with a magnificent view, finishing with a wine tasting-it was a fabulous day.

Our guide Camille was informative, friendly and organised while still giving us time to enjoy the port in our own way. Thank you Camille. This tour is highly recommended.

Instead we ended up taking a longer walk in the National Park which was wonderful. Our guide, Lucille was friendly and knowledgeable and did a great job. Cassis was a wonderful place to walk around and see the Mediterranean. The view from the viewpoint was worthwhile as was the visit to the winery.

The boat ride around the harbor was very refreshing and interesting. Lunch recommendations were excellent. The after lunch drive provided a stunning vista. The wine tasting was very nice. We would highly recommend this excursion.

Cassis is a quaint but unremarkable small town with typical tourist shops. The trip to the overlook is along a narrow winding mountain road and may be trying for those with vertigo or fear of heights but the view is beautiful.
    Personally not a fan of the wines but we were in the minority.
    Overall we’d suggest a shorter trip concentrating on the calanques.

We learned so much and felt very lucky to be in such a beautiful place on a spectacular day in October! The boat tour was lovely and relaxing, as well as being interesting to see Calanques - something new to us, as New Englanders from the U.S. The tour of the Old Town was characterized by Caroline's passion and pride in French history and culture - and that made the tour very special. We then went to to highest point overlooking the Mediterranean for breathtaking views, and then enjoyed wine tasting at a local winery. You can say it was a perfect day in southern France/Provence!

    Everything was perfect including the weather.
    The driver met us in the exact location and we had a comfortable 45 minute ride into Cassis.
    The boat ride was seamless and also the tour of the village. We had a nice lunch and some shopping. The overlook cliff area was breathtaking. A Nice wine tour and The drive home was easy.
    This is a nice tour for a day. Enough and not exhausting.

The group we went with was 4 couples and it was the perfect size. We all got along very well and it was great fun. I only take off one star for the actual boat ride. Our main guide Caroline doesn’t attend that with the group and our host boat driver we could barely hear or understand…so although the ride was pretty we didn’t get much insight to what we were looking at historically etc. Thanks Caroline!

We were fortunate that the weather was good for the boat ride and it is well worth it. We received an extra treat on the boat ride when we pulled into one of the inlets, we saw a young man who was being coached by a famous cliff diver perform his dive. Cassis is worth the trip. The town is beautiful, restaurant was delicious and Caroline our guide made our day so enjoyable.

    Andrea 07, Sep 2023 Our day trip was wonderful. I was traveling with my teenage nephew and my mother who currently has some difficulties walking far or fast. Our guide was fantastic. She was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, flexible and entertaining. I took a break from driving that day to enjoy being driven and felt 100% at ease in the van with our lovely co-adventurers. Our guide provided recommendations for several places to eat lunch, which we followed and were not disappointed. Rather than dragging my mother around from restaurant to restaurant and translating menus, I made a reservation for one our guide had recommended, which allowed us more time to visit the town of Cassis. The wine tasting was also great! We had expected the boat tour to be different (either a small private motor boat or a sailboat, based on the photos of the tour), so we were surprised to find that it was a larger tour boat which didn't entirely fit with the feel and the level of service of the rest of the tour, but was fun.

Doing the tour took the guesswork out of getting to Cassis, buying boat tickets, finding a winery etc. It was all done for us! Highly recommend this tour!

    252ant 26, Jun 2023 We had a great day out with Carolina as a guide. Highlight was the boat ride, and of course seeing Cassis. Going to the top of the cliff was great too. Caroline was entertaining, knowledgeable and full of great information and recommendation. This was good value for the 8 hour (half-day trip). the transport was comfortable too.

    We were disappointed with the wine tasting… only visiting one vineyard - on booking we were told it would be 2. The vineyard we visited offered 3 quick tastings, and was not that informative. Caroline gave us more information.

Our guide Thomas was super friendly and knowledgeable, provided great recommendations for food, other places to visit in the Provencal region. Will definitely come back to Aix-en-Provence.

Very passionate about the things he liked to talk about, with Thomas our day went by just like that. The boat tour was a bit boring, just sat there looking at places from a far. Also, could have spent a bit more time at the wine tasting, but no complaints.

  • What type of vehicles are used during a day tour from Aix en Provence?

    Our company uses only premium minivans that are recent, comfortable and fully equipped including individual A/C, shaded windows, large leg space and on board P/A system for commentaries by the guide.

  • Who conducts your Shared Day Trips from Aix en Provence?

    We only employ accredited and licensed tour guides that are also the drivers for all tours that need visits to be conducted by certified guides. Good examples are: the visit of museums, guided walking tours in cities, visit of historical monuments and so on. In some regions, where wine tours prevail (Bordeaux, Alsace) the tours are conducted by professional local guides, that are experts in Wines.

    While children are welcome, this full-day tour with walking and boat travel is not suitable for children under 4 years old.

    Yes, absolutely. The boat ride in the Calanques is included on this full day tour. If boat ride is unable to take place due to bad weather conditions we will replace this by another visit such as Perfume Museum or additional winery.

    There are several types of boats used during the Calanques boat ride as this taken care by the local Cruise Boat association of Cassis.   • Is lunch included on this full day trip from Aix en Provence?

    No, lunch is not included on our shared tours from Aix en Provence. However, the itinerary has been designed so that you can have some free time for lunch in a location where there are multiple options. On this particular tour, you will have some time for lunch in the charming village of Cassis. Here you have the possibility to purchase snack, eat at local restaurants or brasseries.
