Continue west to Utah Beach, the westernmost American landing beach. Learn how the 4th Infantry Division came ashore here with fewer losses than at Omaha, thanks to strong naval and air bombardment and airborne troops who disrupted German defences inland, and see how sea conditions and currents influenced the landings.
End the day in Sainte-Mère-Église, one of the first towns liberated on 6 June 1944 and a symbol of the U.S. airborne operations.
