Stuart16, Sep 2025The choice of retailers was excellent. They all had a story to tell, were passionate about their food and wine, and we loved the fact that their products were locally sourced. Our guide was fabulous, this was our third tour with Benoit, and he loves history and sharing his passion.

Bryan L07, Oct 2024This walking tour through Sarlat on a market day was fantastic. The food and wine tastings combined with a little history of the region and the town were the perfect combination for an enjoyable morning. Ann is an informed and engaging guide who answered all the questions with a smile and made sure that we understood the answer. I HIGHLY recommend this tour.

Lim Y.28, Oct 2023We went on a walking/food tour in Sarlat with a small group and it was absolutely amazing. The organization from the start was easy with responsive staff and good communication. The day itself was even better, our guide, Anne, was knowledgeable and entertaining, we tasted products from local businesses which were delightful. It gave us a really good insight into the area in that short period of time.

Nikki22, Oct 2022End of October so only 3 guests on tour made for special experience. Our guide’s English was excellent. We walked the food market from end to end and also explored much of medieval Sarlat, including history and architecture had three tasting opportunities at special shops adjacent to the market. The Saturday market was very crowded as expected, so it made sense to do the tastings in shops, rather than in the market itself, which would have been nearly impossible to do. Highly recommend this experience.

HW M27, Jun 2019Delightful intro to gourmet Sarlat
This is our second visit to Sarlat and we still learned much from our charming and knowledgeable guide about the town, markets, and local producers. The stops for tastings of local products ranged from walnut candies, cakes and cookies to a variety of foie gras and sausages. The wine pairings were inspired and we learned to expandable beyond Monbazillac with foie gras. We discovered — and bought! — walnut jam, truffle sausages, several types of foie gras, truffle mustard, walnut mustard... a feast for all the senses. Many thanks Ophorus!
