The lower section of the village was traditionally home to peasants’ houses, the middle level is dominated by the sanctuary where the clergy resided, and at the top of the cliff stands the castle, residence of the local lord representing the chivalry.

Hear the story of the Black Madonna statue, carved from walnut wood in the 12th century, and admire the ship models hanging from the ceiling, offered by sailors saved from shipwrecks after invoking her protection. Listen for the miraculous bell said to ring once for each ship saved, and admire 12th-century frescoes depicting the Annunciation and Visitation opposite the chapel.
