Wear a bathing suit to cool off in the water. There’s plenty of time to enjoy the beach and
town. The guide was very knowledgeable about the area and able to customize the tour for
us.
Quick answers
Is this tour suitable for children or guests with reduced mobility?
The tour can be suitable for older children used to walking and for adults with moderate mobility, as there are some slopes and steps in the Winter Town and at viewpoints. Guests with significant mobility issues may find parts of the itinerary challenging and should contact us in advance to discuss accessibility.
What should I wear and bring?
We recommend comfortable walking shoes, a light jacket or windbreaker, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) and a reusable water bottle. In warm weather, bring a towel and swimwear if you’d like to paddle or swim at the beach.
Will we go onto the Dune du Pilat itself?
This itinerary focuses on the La Corniche area facing the dune, with sweeping views over the Dune du Pilat and the bay. There is an optional short walk down to the beach near the dune, but no full climb of the dune on this tour.
The tour includes gentle walking in Arcachon’s Winter Town and Parc Mauresque. At La Corniche you can simply enjoy the viewpoint, or choose an optional walk down steps to the beach if you feel comfortable.
